dreaming of martini.

this weekend was amazing. I got to spend it with charlie, my favorite person in the whole world in his hometown.  friday after he picked me up, we went around his town, he gave me a house tour and i got to talk to his mom for a while, we went shopping around “the center,” or their shopping/restaurant center. friday night we went to his friend pat’s house, where so many of his high school friends were and i got to meet them.  saturday we went tubing down the farmington river, and then passed out in the sun on the hammock when we got home.  we went out for a really nice dinner at Elements Bistro, and then went back to pat’s to hang out for the night.  sunday, we went shopping and then had charlie’s birthday party at the house.  monday, we walked around the reservoir and went swimming at his friend mark’s pool before i had to go to the airport to leave.

it was a busy weekend, but absolutely so much fun.  lots of long walks, hanging out with his brother and sister (who i love), and spending time with his parents getting to know them a little better.  and of course, tons of quality cuddling time with my guy. 

it’s hard to not have him tucking me in at night anymore, can’t wait when we can go back to being together all the time when we get back to athens! <3

what a day.  i got just what i needed to make up for a horrible morning after a sleepless night. a 2 hour lunch with all the ladies from my office!  first, shoe shopping at this store susan michelle, who was one of our clients for the little black book.  her store is closing because of this stupid economy! but on the upside, my $145 shoes were 70% off! yesss!!!

then we all went to lunch and talked about everything in this world. :) such a great day!

now only an hour left of work, then home to pack up and get ready for my trip to Connecticut!

didn’t fall asleep till after 6 am this morning. missed my 8:30 alarm, and an 8:50 call from Charlie. good thing he called me twice, the next time being at 8:51 and waking me up.  bout two and a half hours of sleep. sweet life.

i’m so sick of being an insomniac.  probably the same story tonight because i have to be up at 5:15 am tomorrow to get ready for the airport; the cab is picking me up at 6. 

only good thing about being at work today is that in about an hour and a half, we’re all going shoe shopping at Susan Michelle’s store closing sale and then getting lunch! Wahoo!

spent the day at the pool today workin on my tan. :) i’m so mad though, the touch screen front of my phone stopped working.  how convenient. i don’t use it all that much, but it’s interesting that verizon just came out with 2 new phones similar to mine, right when this happens.  

kinda like what happened when my old phone kept screwing up, i went through 3 of them in less than year before verizon did me such a favor by upgrading me to the newer version, since they made my phone crappy in the first place. 

if i had the money, i’d just buy a blackberry or an iphone. but then they would come out with something better.

i literally was on facebook, textsfromlastnight.com, and here all day at work today. all. day.

weddings are like one of my favorite things.  you get to buy a new dress to wear, get all dressed up the day of, the ceremony is always so nice, and then the reception is just a good excuse to eat good food, mingle with people you haven’t seen in a while and drink. but what i don’t get is the fact that i’ll be 21 in a little over a week, and so many girls my age and younger are getting married.  not even just that, having kids!! more power to all of them for being prepared for that stage of their life so early, but i could never get married right now even if someone paid me.

sure, i’ve planned my wedding since i was little like most girls, but there’s no way i’d be ready soon.  i just wouldn’t know the first thing about being a wife/mother at 21 years old.  

i’m scared enough about graduating college and starting life on my own, to add a husband and/or baby to that? no thanks. i would not be able to handle it.

going to be in Connecticut in 3 days. WHATT??!?!!!? Soooo beyond excited.

i have started to use the word y’all without even realizing it.  Charleston is having that effect on me.

oy! ok…well i haven’t been on here in a few days but it was because i was out of town in Florida all weekend seeing Laura’s grandma, Meemaw.  she was great. we stayed with her in her house within this retirement community called the villages.  it’s the coolest place. you have to be 55 or older to live there, but everyone there has their own like tricked- out golf cart to drive around in.  there are golf cart paths and parking spaces everywhere you go, and there’s no reason to leave the villages EVER. they have everything. grocery stores, movie theaters, country clubs, two town squares with restaurants, shopping, bars, etc.  you can have a really small house in a smaller division if you’d like, or there’s just huge big houses in other parts. everyone can have their own place! there’s like 27 golf courses, a bunch of pools…i was just in relaxation heaven.  i wish i could move there now.  it’s only a population of 70,000 people, but that was way more than i expected. we had a dinner party the first night; drinking and playing catch phrase with older people is just awesome, no matter what you think.  the days were spent at the pool, and the other two nights out to dinner and drinks! soo much fun.

it was sad though, because since she lost her husband, Laura’s grandpa, last December, you could tell Meemaw was sad and missing him. i felt really bad for her.
